Instead of starting a call by calling a contact directly, calls can be started or joined via a link. Call links are useful for scheduled calendar events, or inviting someone to join you on a call via a chat app like Slack. Tuple allows up to 10 participants on any call. Your personal call link is reusable across calls, including recurring calendar events. Your personal call link is located at the top of the Link tab: Link tab showing your personal call link options
  • Hovering and clicking “Copy call link” will copy the call link to your clipboard so that you can paste and share it.
  • To join your own call, you can select “Join call and copy link.” This will start the call, and allow you to add or approve any further participants. It will also copy the link to your clipboard.
  • If you’d like to create a new link, you can do so by selecting “Generate new call link.”

Sharing a direct call

If call links are enabled for your account, click the link button in the call controls during a direct call. The first click creates a link for that call and copies it to your clipboard. Later clicks copy the same link, including when another participant created it. Creating the link changes who can join: contacts and teammates of any participant can join through it without knocking. Other people must request approval. The link creator’s team restrictions still apply, including required approval and limits on guests or browser access. This link belongs to the ongoing direct call. It doesn’t replace your reusable personal link or turn the call into a persistent room. The call ends when the last participant leaves. If the link button is unavailable, your account may not have this feature enabled, or the call may have been started with an older version of Tuple. For a personal link, the room’s open or closed setting determines whether you need approval. For a direct-call link, the permissions described above apply. If your team is in the web client alpha, a call link can also be opened without the Tuple app at all. See Joining a call from your browser.
